World IBSF U-21 & U-18 – China

The IBSF have just announced the details for the 2018 IBSF World U18 & U21 Snooker Championships for Men & Women. The championships will be hosted by Chinese Billiards and Snooker Association in the city Jinan.
  • from 3 to 6 July 2018: World Under-18 Men and Women (with final on 6th)
  • from 7 to 11 July 2018: World Under-21 Men and Women (with final on 11th)
Entry for these Championships have already been started and Member Countries can now enter their players’ names and details on IBSF Online Entry System using their login credentials. Closing date for entry is 15 June 2018.

PLEASE NOTE: All under 18 players not entered in under 21 championships at closing date will be added to under 21 entries by IBSF unless we are informed otherwise by member country.

Entry fee of US$ 70.00 per player must be paid to the IBSF on the first day of the championship. All players must present their passport to the Tournament Office before the start of the matches.

13 International Referees will be invited. 4 Europe, 5 Asia, 2 Africa and 2 Oceania. Referee nominations must be sent to regional association. Closing date for referee nominations is 7th May. Accommodation will be provided on a twin share basis for all International Referees. Breakfast and one extra meal allowance to be offered to all International Invited Referees. IBSF will give an extra allowance of US$ 400.00 to each international referee.

ABOUT JINAN

Jinan is the Capital of Eastern China’s Shandong province. It is a sprawling city known for its many natural springs, most prominent being the park-enclosed Baotu Spring. Near the city Centre, Expansive Daming Lake has landscaped islands and parkland with temples and pavilions. The modern Shandong Museum displays a huge collection of provincial artefacts, spanning the Neolithic Longshan culture to the Ming dynasty.

Jinan has a population of 7,060,000. The climate during the competition time is expected to be 31.9 °C (Average High) to 23.6 °C (Average Low).

TRAVEL & TRANSPORT

  • Travel time from Jinan Airport to Hotel: 1 hour by taxi (Average cost one way: 150 RMB)
  • Train service: Beijing airport to Jinan city: 2 hours cost approx. $30 one way. Tickets can be booked on line or at airport or train station.
  • Travel time: Between the Jinan West Railway station and the hotel (22 km) 40 mins by taxi. (Average cost one way: RMB 50.00)
  • Travel time from hotel to venue: 10 mins (400 meters away)
 DRESS CODE:
The dress code will be strictly adhered to. All players must wear a waistcoat whilst playing.
  • Evening dress or dark-suit together with waist-coat shall be worn in all sessions of the matches. Long-sleeve shirts buttoned at the wrist, waistcoats and bow-ties, shall be worn for all matches, save when the venue conditions are hot and humid, and, in which case, certain relaxation to dress-code requirements may be decided thereupon by the Championship Committee.
  • Players will be allowed to wear a sponsor’s logo on the waistcoat with a maximum size of 100 mm x 40 mm or 80 mm in diameter. The Host NSA will inform players if their logos may be worn during any televised stages of the Championship and that players wear them belonging to the Host NSA’s sponsor(s) at no cost to the players.
  • The Host NSA will decide the appropriate dress-code for any official functions.
  • Failure to comply with the prescribed dress-code may result in the forfeiture of the match by the players in default.
 VISAS
Visas are required by many countries. Please check with the Chinese embassy in your country

DRUG TESTING
Players may be subjected to Drug Testing in accordance with the WCBS Drugs in Sport Policy.
