Day 5 of the Mens EBSA Snooker Championships here in the Ramada Hotel Sofia saw the start of the knock out rounds for our five Republic of Ireland players Stephen Bateman, Brendan O Donoghue, TJ Dowling, Greg Casey and Noel Landers and at the end of play we have two Irish stars standing with Brendan O Donoghue and Greg Casey in the last 16 round tomorrow.

Stephen Bateman was beaten 4-3 by Kishan Hirani from Wales with top breaks of 54 and 55. View Score Card
In the same round Noel Landers had a good 4-1 win over Joseph Casha from Malta with top breaks of 56 and 116. View Score Card
TJ Dowling also had an impressive win when he beat local player Teodor Chomovski from Bulgaria 4-0 with a top break of 116. View Score Card

TJ Dowling beat last years runner up Andres Petrov Estonia 4 frames to 3 in an exciting match coming back from 1-3 down. View Score Card

Brendan O Donoghue played the match of the day when he made two century breaks 100 and 129 in beating Zsolt Fenyvesi from Hungary 4-3. View Score Card

Action begins again at 10am local time with the last 16 when Brendan will play Andrew Pagett from Wales and Greg will play Fasser Patrick from Scotland this will be followed by the Q Finals and then the Semi Finals in the evening.
