Brendan O Donoghue remains the only Irish man still standing in the IBSF Snooker Championships here in Doha Qatar. Brendan won his last 16 match last night against Steve Misfud (Australia) 5-4 to set up a shootout with Amir Sarkhosh from Iran in the Q Final of the Men’s Championships.
Unfortunately Brian McPhee and John Farrell were beaten by Darren Morgan (Wales) 0-4 and Aidan Owens (England) 3-4 last night in the last 16 of the Masters Championships.
In the last 32 of the Ross Bulman was beaten by 2-5 by Lee Chun Wai from Hong Kong after he had beaten Ali Alobaidli (Qatar) 4-1 in the last 64. Brendan had beaten E Pandurangaiah (India) 4-1 in the last 64 and Andreas Ploner (Austria) 5-0 in the last 32.
In the last 32 of the Masters Brian McPhee beat Anthony Bonnar 4-2 in an all-Ireland battle while Karl Fitzpatrick went out in the last 64 round of the men’s championships to Aekravee Angkam from (Thailand) 0-4
