The Republic of Ireland Billiards & Snooker Association held a successful Ladies Snooker Developmental day on the 19th of November in the Ivy Rooms Snooker Club in Carlow with our RIBSA National Coach PJ Nolan.
All ladies of any standard or age were invited to attend the day with PJ to learn the skills of the game and about the Stance, Grip, Cue Action, Cue Ball Control and basic Potting Skills.
RIBSA would like to thank the clubs owners and managers who encourage as many of their lady members to attend this promotional day and help RIBSA grow the game. The cost to each player was €5.00.
- Schedule
The day began with the players playing some practice routines and PJ gave some tips and advice to the players on how to come in on the line of aim, develop a bridge hand, cue up to the ball and control the cue ball.

Two re-spotted black tournaments were held. The action began at 11am and finished at 3pm.

Jim Leacy RIBSA Chairman said ‘’ RIBSA will again promote the Ladies game with a good National tournament structure and promotional days this season. Ger Murray and Eamon Kearns have been appointed Ladies events TD’s and RIBSA hope more ladies will compete to qualify for the International IBSF, EBSA, HIBSF & WLSA events through RIBSA ranking events.
