Davy Morris from the Kilkenny Shed was in fantastic form when he won the second RIBSA senior snooker ranking event of the season ” The Hickson’s Centra Open” on Tuesday the 24th of October in the Ivy Rooms SC in Carlow.
In the final the former professional snooker player from Kilkenny beat Greg Casey from Crucible SC in Cork 4 frames to 1 in a superb high quality final. RIBSA would like to congratulate Davy on his fantastic victory and Greg on reaching the final.
RIBSA would like to thank everyone who attended the semi final and final on the night, the players for putting a marvellous show, Marian and her staff at the Ivy Rooms, Referees Shane Mason, Conor Doyle and Stephen Bateman for making it a top class night of great snooker.
This event was played down to the semi-finals on Saturday the 21st October in the Ivy Rooms Carlow. There were 61 entries with play starting at 10am. Early on Michael Judge, TJ Dowling, Davy Morris and Brendan O’Donoghue showed good form with Brendan putting together a fantastic 126 to lead the High Break standings but this was equalled by Davy Morris in his semi final.

In the Q-finals Robert Murphy overcame his club mate Michael Judge on a 3 – 2 score line, Davy Morris accounted for Rodney Goggins by 3 frames to 1, TJ Dowling beat Philip Browne also by 3 to 1 and in the last Quarter Greg Casey had a 3 -2 win over the up and coming Noel Landers.
