- The Final
In the final Noel beat his fellow Elite Squad member Ryan McGuirk from R&R in Meath 3 frames to 2 in a superb match. In the opening frame was superb from the two lads with long potting, safety and great sportsmanship as Ryan fouled and owned up straight away but it was noel who went on to win first frame 70-43. It was nip and tuck all the way in the second frame but it was Noel again who won it 67-43 to lead 2-0.
Frame three was a long safety frame and it was Ryan who bounced back to win the frame 61-13 to close the gap at 1-2. Frame four was again a very long frame and it was Ryan who won it 73-35 to set up a deciding frame. Frame five was a tense frame and in the end it was the young Nenagh man who held his nerve to pot the final pink to win the match and the first event of the season.

Tournament Director Declan Quinn was very impressed with the talent on show. All the matches were the best of 5 frames including the final.
