The Republic of Ireland Juniors defeated the Northern Ireland Juniors by 63 frames to 37 frames to win the 2017 Irish Junior Challenge in the Ivy Rooms on Saturday the 2nd of September.
The RIBSA Under 21’s won 31 to 19 and the RIBSA Under 16’s won 32 to 18. The RIBSA juniors won 4 sessions and drew one session.
Stephen Bateman was the Republic team captain and he was presented with the cup. Noel Landers won the highest break with 93 break. Northern Ireland manager Anthony Heaney thanked RIBSA for their generous hospitality and said his players enjoyed the day.
Event TD James Bateman said the event went very smoothly and he congratulated the RIBSA players on a superb performance. He hopes this is a first of many events against NIBSA at different categories and levels.
