RIBSA held a successful Mental Training session and a Training Camp on Saturday the 29th and Sunday the 30th of July in the Ivy Rooms Snooker Club in Carlow to prepare our players for the 2017 Home Internationals and the 2017 IBSF World 6 red and Team Championships which will be held in Egypt next week.
Denis Coen from elitemindsets.ie is one of the leading mind coaches assisted our National Coach PJ Nolan in preparing our RIBSA Senior, Masters, Billiards, Under 21, Under 16 players who will compete in the Home Internationals in Leeds and the IBSF Championships in Egypt.
On the 29th July RIBSA invited all Home International players to a training day. PJ guided the players on various training routines to improve their Break Building and Match-Play.
RIBSA Chairman Jim Leacy was on hand to wish all the players good luck in their up coming International events and thank Denis Coen and PJ Nolan for putting on a great event which he hopes the players will learn from.
Sixteen players took part in the Break Building Challenge and it was won by Aaron Hill from Cork with a superb total of 498 pointts. Aaron averaged 83 on each of the break building routines with John Farrell in 2nd place and Noel Landers in 3rd place. The high breaks on the day were by Aaron Hill with 136 and 117, John Farrell had 120 and 124, Rodney Goggins had 133, Dylan Rees had 109 and Noel Landers had a 121 break.
Mind Session
On Sunday the 30th July all the players are invited to a 2hr Mind Session where Denis trained the players on a specific program to help them improve the mental side of the game. This was followed with match-play training on the table.
