Day 2 was the final day of the round robin matches in the 2017 World IBSF Under 18 Snooker Championships here in Beijing China.
All three Irish players Noel Landers, Darragh Cusack and Ronan Whyte were trying to win to qualify but it was only the Youghal man Noel Landers who qualifies for the last 24 with a great 3-0 win over Mohammadreza Ajdarian from Iran which included three 40 breaks and a 50 break.
Darragh Cusack was beaten by Muhammad Naseem Akhtar from Pakistan 3 frames to nil but the Dubliner goes into the World U-21’s with some confidence after his win over China yesterday.
Ronan Whyte was also beaten by Phuttakarn Kimsuk from Thailand tomorrow but he has impressed at his first International event and he will now focus on the World Under 21’s.
Everyone will now cheer on Noel later tonight in the Last 24 round and the world’s U-21’s start on the 12th – 16th with Shane Bates and Aaron Holland along with Noel Landers, Darragh Cusack and Ronan Whyte flying the flag for the Republic of Ireland.
You can follow all the live scoring and results from China on www.ibsf.info and on www.ebsa.pl
Good luck Team Ireland!!!!!!
