The Republic of Ireland players achieved 4 wins from 4 matches on Day 1 of the 2016 IBSF World Snooker Championships in Doha Qatar. The Championships will be held from the 19th – 29th of November in the Al-Sadd Club – Sheikh Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium in Doha.
In action today were senior players TJ Dowling who won 4-2 against Bahrain coming back from two nil down. Master players Brendan Thomas won 3 frames to nil against Sri Lanka and it was Shane Gorman who started off the day in style for the Irish with a 3 frames to 1 win against Russia.
RIBSA lady player Paula Judge had a superb victory over Iran 3 frames to 0 while Michael Judge, Jason Devaney, Dylan Rees, Tom O Driscoll had a rest day today. The Irish Coach PJ Nolan was delighted with the players commitment and with the 4 wins from the 4 matches today. Action starts again at 10am.
