Ross Bulman from Youghal CYMS won the first RIBSA U-16 Snooker Ranking Tournament of the season in the Ivy Rooms Snooker Club in Carlow on Saturday the 22nd of October. In the final Ross beat Aaron Goldrick from Cavan 3 frames to 0 in an exciting attacking snooker final.
In the Semi Finals Ross Bulman beat John Joyce from the Classic SC Dublin 3-0 and Aaron Goldrick beat Aaron Hill from the Crucible 3-2 in the other Semi.
The Highest Break was won by Aaron Hill with a superb 79 Break.
RIBSA would like to thank the Ivy Rooms for hosting the event and Ger Murray for Refereeing on the day. RIBSA would also like to thank all the players and look forward to seeing them at the next event two on the 19th of November in the Ivy Rooms.
RIBSA National Coach PJ Nolan was the Tournament Director and all the matches were the best of 5. He was very impressed with all the talent on show today in Carlow and said the future is looking good for Irish Snooker!!!!!
This season all the RIBSA Under 16 events will be held in the Ivy Rooms SC in Carlow. The top four players will qualify for the Home Internationals in Leeds in August 2017.
The top six players at the end of the season will qualify for the 2017 Celtic Challenge at the end of June.
Format for 2016/2017
The entry fee is €10.00. Registration Fee U-21 €10.00 and U-16’s €5.00 – Proof of age required.
Five RIBSA U-16 ranking events will be held plus an U-16 National Championship this season to qualify our players for the International Team.
Please note : The closing date for all RIBSA Under Age Tournaments will be 1pm on the Friday before the tournament. Waistcoats are required for all events however National waistcoats are not permitted.
Play will begin at 10.30am and the Draw will be on the RIBSA Web Site @ 3pm on the 21st of October.
