Ross Bulman from Youghal CYMS won the first RIBSA U-18 Snooker Ranking event of the season in the Ivy Rooms Snooker Club, Carlow on Saturday the 10th of September.
Ross now receives a place at the European U-18 Championship in Cyprus in March 2017.
To support the European Week of Sport the Republic of Ireland Billiards & Snooker Association (RIBSA) have decided to offer free entry into this RIBSA tournament.
PRIZE FUND
This event had 16 entries and the prize fund was €80.00 for the winner, €32.00 for the Runner Up, €16.00 for each Semi Finalist and €16.00 for the High Break.
In the final Ross beat team mate Noel Landers 3 frames to 2 in an excellent final. Ross needed a snooker in frame 4 to come back to level the match at 2-2 and he then made a 80 break in the decider to win the match.
Our National Coach PJ Nolan was the Tournament Director and all the matches were the best of 5 frames. The highest break was won by Ross Bulman with a superb 88 Break.
Ross will now attend training at the next two ranking events with PJ to prepare for the 2016 European Championship while all the others will focus now on event 2 on the 1st of October.

Format for 2016/2017
The entry fee is €10.00. Registration Fee U-21 €10.00 and U-16’s €5.00 – Proof of age required.
Three RIBSA ranking events will be held before December with each winner receiving a ticket to the European U-21 Championships. They will be joined by the highest ranked player on the U-18 rankings.
Please note : The closing date for all RIBSA Under Age Tournaments will be 1pm on the Friday before the tournament. Waistcoats are required for all events however National waistcoats are not permitted.
Play will begin at 10am and the Draw will be on the RIBSA Web Site @ 3pm on the 9th of September.
