The Republic of Ireland Juniors impressed again on the second day of the World IBSF U-18 Snooker Championship here in Mol in Belgium. Today we had 8 wins out of a total of 13 matches.
Charlie Sweeney won his group after he beat Poland 3-1 and Finland 3-0, Charlie will now be among the top seeds for the knock outs. Shane Hourihane lost his match today 3-0 against France but he also qualifies and joins Darragh Cusack who won his match 3-1 against Japan.
Ross Bulman lost his first match against Belgium 2-3 but he regained his focus to beat an England player 3-0 to qualify. He will be joined by his teammate Noel Landers who won his both matches today when he beat Holland 3-0 and Noel then beat one of the tournament favourites from Thailand 3-1.
Sean Devenney lost his match today 0-3 against Wales and he needs to beat Holland tomorrow to qualify. His team mate Eamon Harkin did qualify after he won a great match against Scotland 3-1 to earn his spot in the knock out.
Fergal Quinn won his first match against Belgium 3-2 but he was beaten by Kyrgyzstan 3-2 but Fergal is already assured of a spot in the knock out stages.
John Landers lost his first match today against Romania 3 frames to 1 but he fought back to beat Belgium 3-2 and he needs to beat his team mate Shane Hourihane tomorrow to qualify,

Tomorrow will see the end of the group matches and the knock outs rounds start at 3pm 5pm and 6pm and the Championship will be played down to the last 32 by the close of play tomorrow.
