TJ Dowling from Terry Rogers SC won his third Irish Senior Snooker Championship title when he beat Johnny Williams from Potters SC 7 frames to 3 in a superb final in the Ivy Rooms Snooker Club, Carlow on Sunday the 8th of May.
The scores were tied at 3-3 after the first session but Dowling won important tight frames to win the title that he had won in 1997 and 1998.
TJ won the title aged 16yrs and 17yrs but he said this win today was more special, Johnny should be very proud of himself in reaching his first major final as he beat top quality opponents along the way to the final but Dowling was unstoppable this week.
TJ will now represent the Rep of Ireland in the 2016 IBSF World Championships in November. David Hogan won the high break prize with a fantastic 120 break.
This years the Championships weekend was live streamed and RIBSA would like to thank the Ivy Rooms SC and all the players in making it such a big success.
Well done TJ
