In the 2016 RIBSA Ladies Senior Snooker Championship qualifiers were held in Newbridge CYMS on Saturday the 23rd of April and it was Michelle Sherwin who was the first to book her place in the final.
Paula Judge made a fantastic return to Irish ladies snooker by winning 5 of her 8 frames. It went down to the last match between Claire Mill and Michelle Sherwin, with Claire needing to win 2-0 to force a playoff against Paula.
Both players were quite nervy but Michelle took her chances when presented to her and won the first frame, which put Paula into the final with her.
Catherine Fitzsimons made a welcome return also today after a long illness and played some fantastic snooker. It was great to see her back looking in great health.
Well done to Michelle Sherwin and Paula Judge on reaching the final which will be played in the Ivy Rooms on the 7th of May.
RIBSA ladies would like to wish Michelle, Paula, Ronda and Nicoletti all the best on the finals weekend in Carlow in May. Thanks again to Newbridge CYMS for having us, it’s always a pleasure to play in such wonderful facilities.
