14 year old Ross Bulman lost 2-4 in the Semi Final of the European Under 18’s in Wroclaw Poland today. Ross played Tyler Rees from Wales in a best of 7 frame shootout. It was the Youghal man who started well winning the opening two frames to lead 2-0.
His experienced opponent who had reached the Q-Finals in both events this week fought back to win the next four to deny the Irishman a place in the final.
The final was an all Welsh battle as Tyler Rees beat Jackson Page 5 frames to 2 in the final.
All our attention now switches to Josh Boileau who will play Joe O Connor from England tomorrow (Saturday) morning at 10am in the best of 9 frames in the Semi Final of the European Under 21 Championship. The winner will receive a 2yr Professional pro ticket
National Coach PJ Nolan praised the performance of young Ross who was playing in his first major International. Ross showed this week that he can play at this level and the experience gained will stand for his development and the future looks good for Irish snooker to have two young players in the Semi Finals.
