The last 48 and Last 32 rounds were played today in the 2016 EBSA European Under 21 Snooker Championships here in the Haston Hotel in Wroclaw Poland.
The three RIBSA players had qualified from their groups with excellent snooker and in the last 48 round Adam Fitzgerald had a great win over Tudor Popescu from Romania winning 4 frames to nil with a top break of 59. Adam then played Dylan Craig from Scotland but he was beaten 4 frames to 2 in a high quality match that could have went either way.
Josh Boileau and Charlie Sweeney were both seeded into the last 32 after winning their groups and the Newbridge duo played awesome snooker in the last 32 round when Josh beat Patryk Masłowski from Poland with breaks of 59, 67 and 68. Josh will now play last years professional player Alexander Ursenbacher from Switzerland in the last 16 tomorrow morning at 11.30am local time.
Charlie found himself 3-1 down in his match against Rhys Thomas from Wales after his welsh opponent had a superb 115 clearance but the Newbridge man fought back to win it 4 frames to 3 to reach the last 16 of his first ever International event. Charlie will now play Yannick Tarillon from France at 11.30am.
