Michael Judge won the 2nd RIBSA ranking event of the season after Newbridge CYMS was selected to host the final of the Senior event on Thursday night the 26th of November.
Michael Judge from the Q Club in Wicklow beat Josh Boileau from Newbridge CYMS 5 frames to 3 in a superb final. The Newbridge club were honored to to have been chosen for this important final and would like to thank everyone who attended. The win moves Michael to number 2 in the Senior rankings.
This ranking event ‘The Irish Open ‘ had 57 entries and all 57 players turned up to play on Saturday the 31st of October. The Semi Finals and Final were to played on Sunday 1st November in the Ivy Rooms Snooker Club in Carlow but due to Michael Judge playing in the Masters event, RIBSA decided to hold the final in Newbridge.
Big upsets in the early rounds were Stephen Reddington from Darcy McGees/Spawell beating Martin McCrudden 3-2, John O Sullivan from Kilkenny Shed beat David Hogan from Nenagh 3-0 and Greg Casey beat event 1 winner and No.1 seed Brendan O Donoghue 3-2.

The High break prize went to Josh Boileau with a superb 122 break, Greg Casey also had a 101 Break.
