Day 5 was another successful day at the 2015 IBSF World Snooker Championships here in Hurghada, Egypt with four victories out of four matches for our Republic of Ireland players.
Alan Matic made it 4 out of 4. He now tops his group and will be seeded directly into the last 32 when he managed another final frame decider beating Karim Abdelmeguid from Egypt in a thrilling match 3 frames to 2.
David Cassidy had the day off but he already qualified for the knock out stages.
Greg Casey impressed again with a solid win over Khaled Alastal from Palestine winning 4 frames to 1. Greg is safely through to the knock out stages after being placed in a difficult group.
Tom O Driscoll bounced back today after his black ball defeat yesterday to record a great 3 frames to 1 victory over Ihab Al Salih from Iraq. The Waterford man qualifies for the knock out stages.
Rodney Goggins finished off the day on a high for the Irish to record his fifth straight win to top his group with an impressive 4 frames to 3 victory over Nadir Khan Sultani from Afghanistan which took 4hrs 30min to complete. The Wexford man will be among the top seeds for the knock outs.
All 5 players have now qualified and we are awaiting the draw which will be made later tonight.
