The Republic of Ireland players Alen Matic, David Cassidy and Rodney Goggins won again on Day 4 of the 2015 IBSF World Snooker Championships here in Hurghada, Egypt.
Alan Matic continues to stay unbeaten when he won his third straight match beating experienced Paul Thomerson from Australia 3 frames to 2. Alen is playing great snooker and he goes into his final group match in the morning against Karim Abdelmeguid looking for top seed in the group.
David Cassidy played great snooker again and won 4-1 against Haitham Al Hammadi from Yemen which included breaks of 43, 45 and 56 to qualify the Corkman for the knock out stages.
Greg Casey suffered his second defeat when he was beaten 4 frames to 2 by Amir Sarkhosh from Iran. Greg had a top break of 73 in the match and he is playing good snooker and he goes into his final match tomorrow against Khaled Alastal from Palestine with high confidence.
Tom O Driscoll was beaten in the match of the day against Jason Peplow from Malta 3 frames to 2 on the final black ball. Tom played great snooker today and tomorrow he will play his final group match against Ashraf Mannoun from Egypt and a win will have him among the top seeds in the knock draw.
Rodney Goggins is still unbeaten in the championship with 4 wins from 4 matches and the Irishman had two good wins today when he beat Ryan Thomerson from Australia 4 frames to 3 in an exciting match and the 147wexford man followed that up with a 4-0 victory over Khaled Farouk from Egypt which included breaks of 55, 62 and 69.
