Day seven was a great day for Tom O Driscoll and John O Sullivan in the 2015 EBSA European Snooker Championship here in Prague when both won and qualified for the knock out stages.
The Waterford man beat Michael Heeger from Germany 3 frames to 1 this morning in a key match to qualify the Irishman into the knock out stages. Keith Sheldreck and Alen Matic both lost this morning but both qualified for the knock out stages after Keith was beaten by Allan Norvark from Denmark 3 frames to nil while Alen was beaten by Yvan Van Velthoven from Belgium 3 frames to 1.
Men’s Event
John O Sullivan knew he had to win his final match to qualify and the Kilkenny man did the business when he recorded 4 frames to nil victory over Jan Matejicek from the Czech Republic. John played hard snooker and he is delighted to qualify. He will be joined by Brendan O Donoghue and Greg Casey after they both had the day off today.
Ladies Event
Ronda Sheldreck and Michelle French played their last matches today. Ronda was beaten by Valerie Savonet from France 3 frames to nil, while Michelle won her final group match when she beat Eva Maskova from the Czech Republic 3 frames to 1.
