Day five of the 2015 EBSA European Snooker Championship here in Prague has just finished with great performances from Brendan O Donoghue, Greg Casey. Kilkenny man John O Sullivan got things off to a good start with a 4 frames to 1 victory over Marko Grbovic from Serbia but he was beaten in tonight’s key match 4 frames to 3 by Jason Peplow from Malta.
Brendan O Donoghue and Greg Casey faced top class opposition from Germany when Brendan played Lukas Kleckers and won 4 frames to nil which included top breaks of 56 and 94. Greg beat Roman Dietzel with top breaks of 52 and 60. Brendan has now 5 wins from 5 matches, while Greg has 5 from 5 and John has 2 wins from 5 matches.
Masters Event
All the masters of Keith Sheldreck Tom O Driscoll and Alen Matic were off today.
Ladies Event
Today was another hard day for our ladies Ronda Sheldreck and Michelle French when they were beaten by two of the favourites for the title when Ronda was beaten by Nastya Toumilovitch from Belarus 3 frames to nil while Michelle was beaten by Daria Sirotina from Russia 3 frames to nil, Daria had breaks of 30, 31, 37 and 47.
PJ Nolan said ‘’ He was delighted with the results over Germany and John was unlucky tonight but everyone is fighting hard in each match.
