RIBSA held a Junior snooker training camp for the up coming Celtic Challenge in the Ivy Rooms Snooker Club on Sunday 31st of May with our National Coach PJ Nolan. RIBSA organised the camp to help our Republic of Ireland Junior players prepare for this years Celtic Challenge which takes place in the Ivy Rooms on Saturday 20th of June.
Ross Bulman, Noel Landers, Aaron Goldrick, Corey Ramsbottom, Noel Gleeson, Fergal Quinn, Keith O Reilly, Luke Bateman, Dylan Keightley and Oisin Bateman were all in superb form during the camp where they practiced Long Potting, Safety, Match-Play and Break Building routines.
Each player received a DVD of his action during the lesson and sports psychology booklet and audio to help with their mind fitness. All the players practiced from 11am – 4pm and PJ worked on videoing the players on his academy practice routines while working on their playing technique and mind fitness on the psychology of the game in order to prepare for the Championship.
Brendan Cooney has been appointed the Under 14 Team Manager role while James Bateman will look after the Under 16 team on the day of the event and PJ Nolan will be the Coach of both team.
RIBSA would like to wish all the players and officials the best of luck in the Celtic Challenge on the 20th of June and finally RIBSA would like to thank Marion Leacy and the Ivy Rooms for the use of the tables for the day.

There will be a play off for the last remaining place on the team on the Saturday the 13th of May at 10am after the three players finished on the same points total on the RIBSA rankings. Play- off – Daniel Merrigan Dublin, Joe McEntegart Athlone and Shane Hourihan Cork.
Celtic Junior Open – 21st June
A Celtic Under 21 Junior Open will be held on Sunday the 21st June, the day after the Celtic Challenge in the Ivy Rooms Snooker Club in Carlow. This event is open to all Under 21 players. This event will feature Irish and Welsh players battle it out for the title and this open will be held in Groups with a Handicap system of Under 21 players Scratch, Under 16 players +10 and Under 14 players +16. All matches will be 3 frames in the groups.
If you would like to enter the event you should text the Ivy Rooms on 087 635 1163. The Open will start at 10am and neat casual is the dress code of pants, polo shirt. The Draw will be on the RIBSA site on the 19th June at 3pm.
The entry fee is €10.00 for all the players and our National Coach PJ Nolan is the Tournament Director of the event.
Ivy Rooms Opens on 13th & 14th of June
The Ivy Rooms Snooker Club in Carlow will be holding a Under 19 Junior Open on Saturday the 13th of June and a Senior Open on Sunday the 14th of June. The entry fee is €10.00 for all the players
The Closing date is 10am on both mornings and if you would like to enter the event you should text the Ivy Rooms on 087 635 1163
The Open will start at 10.30am and neat casual is the dress code of pants, polo shirt.

The cost of holding a RIBSA session is €20.00 per hour coaching time plus €20.00 per hour travel time from Carlow plus tolls and parking.
If you would like to travel to the Ivy Rooms Snooker Club in Carlow you can avail of a 2hr session for €65.00 which includes Lights, DVD of the lesson and Technique profile.
