The final day of qualfying for the 2015 Irish Senior Championships was held in The Ivy Rooms Snooker Club in Carlow. It was another exciting day of snooker after Rodney Goggins, John Sutton, Daniel O Regan, Robert Redmond, Greg Casey, Peter Donegan, Adam Nolan and Robert Murphy qualified on day one. Eight more players qualified on Sunday to play in the last 16 during Championship weekend from the 22nd – 24th of May.
Defending Irish Senior Champion Martin McCrudden was in action today against former Champions Michael Judge but it was the former Pro player Judge who won 4-2 to qualify. Another former Champion Brendan O Donoghue was in fantastic form when he knocked in the new high break of the Championship when he made a 136 against Tom O Driscoll to qualify.
The 136 Break by Brendan O Donoghue was his 12th Century of the season in the Senior Rnaking Events. European Champion David Hogan was also it great form and it promises to be a fantastic 2015 Championships with a number of great battles ahead if they want to become the 2015 Irish Championships later on this month.
The Eight Qualifers today were Michael Judge, Colvin O Brien, David Hogan, John Farrell, Brendan O Donoghue, Philip Browne, David Cassidy and Colm Gilcreest.
