Day One of EBSA Training Camps with PJ

Our National Coach PJ Nolan held his first day of  a planned two day RIBSA training camp on Sunday 26th of May in the Ivy Rooms Snooker Club in Carlow. Training was from 11am – 4pm for the players who will represent the Republic Of Ireland in the up comming EBSA Men’s, Masters and Ladies Snooker Championships in the Czech Republic which will be held from the 2nd to the 13th of June.

The players were put through their paces and PJ worked on their techniques and he gave the players training routines to prepare properly for the up coming Championship in Prague. John O Sullivan, Brendan O Donoghue and Ronda Sheldreck were joined today with Irish No.1 Senior player Rodney Goggins and No.1 U-14 player Ross Bulman and leading Carlow Junior Dylan Keightley to give the players match-play practice on the day.

The players trained on the Shender Match Tables and PJ also worked with them on the psychology of the game in order to play with more confidence. RIBSA organised this two day camp with PJ to help our players prepare for the Championship and each player received a DVD of his action during the lesson and sports psychology audio to help with their mind fitness.

Ladies Snooker

For the first time in many years we will be sending two lady players to the European Championship and Ronda trained hard on the day and her passion for the game and wanting to improve is great to see.
