Bulman Wins RIBSA U-16 Event 3

A superb turnout of 31 players arrived at the Douglas snooker club in cork for the third of this year’s  Under 16 national events.  All the top seeds were there hoping to improve their places in the rankings before the national championships in March.

All the top seeds made it through to the last sixteen except Shane Hourihane who fell to on in form Dylan O Shaughnessy 3/2.  The quarter final line-up saw Noel Landers advanced past Sean Devanney 3/1 and Fergal Quinn fell to fellow Cookstown man Jason O Hagan 3/0.  In the bottom half of the draw Aaron Goldrick advances past Joe Mc Entegart 3/1 and Ross Bulman moved on to the semis over Ronan Whyte 3/0.

Noel Landers moved on to the final with a 3/1 victory over Jason O Hagan and Ross Bulman lost his first frame of the day but moved on to the final over Aaron Goldrick 3/1.  Ross seemed to be the in form player on the day and this proved to be the case as he was victorious in the final over Noel with a 3/1 victory.  Congratulations to Ross Bulman on a superb tournament.

The high break’s on the day were Ross Bulman 80, 59, 43, Aaron Goldrick 58, Noel Landers 52, 40, 34.  It was a very exciting day of snooker and the future of snooker certainly looks bright with all the superb talent on display in Cork this weekend.

We would like to thank the Douglas Snooker Club for the use of their superb facilities for the tournament and thanks also to Don O Donoghue for refereeing.
