Shane Bates from the 147 Club in Wexford won the 4th RIBSA Under 21 Snooker Ranking event of the season in the Ivy Rooms Snooker Club on Saturday the 17th of January. In the final Shane beat Charlie Sweeney from Newbridge CYMS 3 frames to 2 in an exciting final.
All the players will be focused on climbing the rankings to hopefully qualify for the World Under 21 Snooker Championships that take place in Romania in July and our National Coach PJ Nolan who was the tournament director was very impressed with the standard of play on the day.
The high break went to Shane Bates also with a superb 71 Break.
A big thank you goes to the Ivy Rooms Snooker Club in Carlow for hosting the event and to Ger Murray who refereed the semi finals and final on the day. Finally well done to all the players on making the event a big success.
