Last night the Annual General Meeting of International Billiards and Snooker Federation was held and it elected a new IBSF board for next term for 2014-2016 here in Bangalore India.
The elections were for the posts of President, Vice President and General Secretary were voted on but the post for Treasurer was unopposed as Michael Alkhoury of Syria was unopposed.
The post for the IBSF President was contested between Jim Leacy of Ireland (sitting president) and Capt. PVK Mohan of India (sitting Vice President). The AGM elected Capt. Mohan as new President by 28 votes to 21.
The post of Vice President, the contest was between Maxime Cassis of France and Alamgir Sheikh of Pakistan and Maxime Cassis was elected by 27 to 23.
The post of General Secretary was contested between sitting General Secretary, Mohammed El Kammah of Egypt and Dr. Mohammed Leysi of Turkey. Both got equal number of votes and the IBSF President, Capt Mohan, used his casting vote and elected Mohammed El-Kammah as General Secretary.
The new IBSF Board comprises as: Capt. PVK Mohan (President); Maxime Cassis (Vice President); Mohammed El Kammah, (General Secretary); Michael Alkhoury (Treasurer); Barrie Jones and Mubarak Al Khayarin as Board Member.
Well done to Jim Leacy on a good two years as the IBSF President as he did so much to improve the game worldwide and RIBSA wish the New IBSF Board the best of luck.
