On day 4 of the 2014 World IBSF Snooker Championships here in Bangalore India we had wins from for Michael Judge, Tom O Driscoll, Anthony Bonnar and Keith Sheldrick but we had defeats for Robert Murphy, Stephen Walsh and Josh Boileau.
First off was today was former Irish professional player Michael Judge and he produced a stunning 4 nil victory over Ajeya Prabhakar from USA. Anthony Bonnar played his best match so far when he beat experienced Mohammed Al Jokher from the UAE 3 frames to nil.
Stephen Walsh faced one of the tournament favourites Chuchart Trairattanpradit who is a former pro and former winner of the IBSF Mens title. The Thai controlled early on but Walsh fought back before the Thai player won frame four on the black to win 3 frames to 1.
Dubliner Keith Sheldrick won his third game in a row to stay unbeaten when he beat Rafath Habib from India 3 frames to 1 in a good display.
Tom O Driscoll gave a master class of match snooker to beat Nadeem Ahmed from India 3 frames to nil after the Waterford man controlled the whole match.
Josh Boileau was beaten 4 frames to 2 against Adrian Ridley to force the Newbridge man to his second defeat in the Championship despite Josh winning the first and third frames in leading 2-1.
Robert Murphy played Amir Sarkhosh from Iran and the Iranian player made the highest break of the Championship with a 127 in beating the Dubliner 4 frames to 2. It was another quiet day for Jason Devaney when he had no match.
The standard this year is very high from all the countries and our players are giving it 100% and they are all focused on qualifying for the knock out stages.
