Aaron Moyles from Ballina won the RIBSA Under 21 Ranking Tournament (2) in Celbridge Snooker Club on Saturday the 15th of November. In the final he beat Aaron Tobin from Youghal. The win moves Aaron Moyles to number 1 in the Under 21 rankings.
In the semi finals Aaron Moyles beat Stephen Bateman from Kilkenny SC 3 frames to 2 and Aaron Tobin beat Daragh Cusack 3 frames to nil in the other semi final. Professional Snooker Player Fergal O Brien was in attendance today in Celbridge to give advice and encouragement to the players and RIBSA would like to say a big thank you.
Our National Coach PJ Nolan was the tournament Director on the day and he was very impressed with the quality of play on the day from our players and it was Stephen Bateman who won the high break trophy with a 47 break.
The big upset in the event was when Aaron Holland beat Under 16 National Champion Charlie Sweeney 3 frames to 1 for a super win for the young man. RIBSA would also like to thank Celbridge Snooker Club for hosting the successful event and to Shane Corr for Refereeing on the day.
Event 3 is scheduled for Northwest Snooker Club in Letterkenny on the 14th of December
