The first of this year’s Under 21 Regional snooker tournaments took place at the North West Snooker Club in Letterkenny last weekend. For some it was a matter of wiping the cobwebs off the cue for the first time in a couple of months, but for others who had a busy summer of international junior tournaments it was a short break before this weekend’s tournament.
After the round robin stages the quarter final line-up saw Sean Devenney defeat Eamon Harkin 3/0, and Ronan Whyte defeat Adam Orr 3/0. Sean Devenney had not bested his final opponent from Ardara in four previous meetings but after a blistering start Sean Devenney kept the pressure on to go on to win 4/0. This was the ideal start to the season for the North West player.
The next tournament will take place this Saturday the 20th with the first of the under 19 regional events, all are welcome. Call the club between 11am and 12midnight any day, to enter the under 19 on 0749121384
