The RIBSA Mens team made it five wins in a row on day two of the European Men’s Team Championship here in Bucharest, Romania. This year’s event is being played in a new format of Singles, Scotch Doubles and reverse single matches and our RIBSA are really enjoying the new format.
It was a great day for Ireland 2 Mens Team of Jason Devaney & Rodney Goggins who recorded a superb win against Finland this afternoon with a 4 frames to 1 victory. The match started off with Rodney & Jason winning their opening singles and Doubles match. Finland fought back to beat Rodney in the return singles before Devaney wrapped up the victory for the Irish. Next Match is against Romania (8) at 10am local time.
Ireland 1 Men’s Team of Robert Murphy & Michael Judge were superb in a fast 5 frames to nil victory over Belgium. The Irish team were the first team to finish their match in the afternoon session with a clinical display of match play snooker. The pre tournament favourites who reached the IBSF World Team Semi Final last September are back in action tomorrow at 10am local time against Romania (2)
The teams were excellent again today and the players are 100% focused on doing the job here this week. As National Coach I could not of asked for more. Well done boys and good luck on Day 3 – Come on Ireland!!!!!
