Wales won the 2013 Celtic Snooker Challenge with 64 frames to 55 win over Ireland in the Ivy Rooms Snooker Club in Carlow. In the Fifth Session the Irish Under 16 team won 7-5 but the Under 14 team lost 4 frames to 8 to Wales to close the gap but it was not enough.
It really was a fantastic day of Junior International Snooker and the future looks good with a number of top Juniors in Wales and Ireland.
Brendan Cooney thanked the Irish players on a fine performance and congratulated the Welsh team on their great win today.
RIBSA thanked the Ivy Rooms for the superb venue on the day and there was a minute silence for the grandfather of young Stephen Bateman who passed away yesterday and the Irish boys wanted to win it in his memory.
