Jim Leacy President of the I.B.S.F. is pleased to announce that the IBSF World Team Snooker Championship and the World IBSF 6 Red Championship will be held from the 29th of September to the 6th of October in Ireland.
The Championships will be hosted by the Republic Of Ireland Billiards & Snooker Association and held in the Ivy Rooms Snooker Club Carlow.
The events will feature Men’s, Masters and Women’s events and the IBSF hope to attract the best players and teams from all over the world in an exciting team format consisting of two players. The 6 Red Snooker Championship will feature all the categories i.e. Seniors, Masters and Women in one event.
The Action begins on the 29th September at the Opening Ceremony with the Closing Ceremony 6th October. The Team Event : 2 Players per team, 2 Teams per Country in each Category. The 6 Reds Event : Open to all players participating in the teams events.
The Team Event Round Robin Stage will be held over 5 days of 3 sessions per day with the 6 Red Round Robin Stage held with 3 sessions per day played.
The Knock out Stages will be held over the final two days on the 5th & 6th October.
The Projected Entry is around 64 Teams = 128 Players. The Projected Prize Fund is $10,000 per event, Team and 6 Red. The Entry Fee is $70 per player per event. The Accommodation will be €80 per twin room per night B&B.
