The Republic of Ireland Masters players of Frank Sarsfield, Nigel Power, Anthony Bonnar and mark Tuite have all qualified superbly for the Knock out Stages at the 2013 European Snooker Championships here in Poland.
Celbridge man Nigel Power played an outstanding match today to beat highly rated Yvan Van Velthoven from Belgium 3 frames to 2 to win Group B. Nigel will now be seeded number 8 for the Knock out Draw.
Anthony Bonnar and Mark Tuite had a rest day today but Anthony won his Group E and will be seeded at number 6 in the knock out draw while Mark finished second in Group H and will be seeded number 12 for the knock out draw.
Frank Sarsfield finished off the day in style for the Irish with a superb win over Rene Dikstra from the Netherlands 3 frames to 1 to win Group C. The Limerick man will now be seeded number 2 in the knock out draw.
As the National Coach the players have performed unbelievable here in Poland and to achieve Number 2, 6, 8 and 12 after the group stages is a superb performance from our players. The players are fully focused on preparing properly for the knock outs as this is where the action really hots up to find the 2013 European Masters Champion.
