Brendan O’Donoghue from Nenagh won the 7th Ranking event of the season and his second in a row. Brendan beat Ryan Cronin 4-0 in the quarters and after a long fought battle with Rodney Goggins took the semi-final 4-3. John Sutton won his quarter final match against the 147 man, David Hogan 4-1 and David Morris 4-0 in the semi’s.
David Morris recorded breaks of 126, 96 and 98 in his quarter-final match against Greg Casey The stage was set for the final between Brendan and John. Brendan was in great form and stopped John in his gallop beating him 5-0. The National Championships – 96 stage takes place at the Ivy Rooms on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th May.
