The RIBSA Under 16 National Snooker Championship was played in Douglas Snooker Club in Cork featuring 22 top young players from all around the country looking to lift the Irish title. The 2013 final on the 26th of May will be between Sean Burns from Cork and Shane Bates from Wexford after both players played some fantastic snooker on the day.
In the Semi Final Sean Burns beat Charlie Sweeney from Newbridge 3 frames to nil and Shane Bates beat Fergal Quinn from Tyrone 3 frames to nil in the other semi final.
Shane Bates holds the High Break with 56 break so far in the Championship. Adam Fitzgerald from Youghal CYMS is assured of the Number 1 spot on the Under 16 rankings regardless of Burns or Bates winning the title.
RIBSA would like to thank Karl and Martin Busteed from Douglas Snooker Club in Cork for making the event such a big success and the tables were in excellent condition for all the great attacking snooker from our Irish stars of the future.
