On Saturday the 30th of March the National Under 18 Snooker Championships took place in Douglas Snooker Club in County Cork. All the best players from all over the country competed down to the final. The final will be played during the national championships weekend in may. Karl and Martin Busteed had the club in superb condition for all the players to play their best game.
It will Aaron Tobin and Aaron Moyles who will contest the final in The Ivy Rooms, Carlow on the finals weekend in May. Both players played tremendous snooker and deservedly cemented their places in the upcoming final.
Aaron Tobin achieved the highest break of the day with 93 and his solid performances against Evan O’ Leary, Aaron Lyons and Kenny Wight ensured his place in the final.
Aaron Moyles’ concentration and consistent form handed him his place in the final with wins against Dylan O’ Shaughnessy, Dessie Roche and Adam Fitzgerald.
The Plate Event was won by Johnny Murphy who fought a hard battle against Evan O’ Leary with Murphy triumphing 2-1.
Sincere thanks to Martin Busteed, owner of Douglas Snooker Club. He efficiently organised and processed the day’s events in this fantastic venue.
Well done to all involved. Many thanks to all competitors who travelled near and far .
