The Senior Team of Brendan O Donoghue, Rodney Goggins, Greg Casey, Johnny Williams and Robert Redmond won the 2012 Home Internationals here in Pontins North Wales tonight.
This is the only the fourth time in the history of RIBSA that we have won the prince of Wales title after victories in 1993, 2000 and 2001.
Brendan O Donoghue was star performer of the week winning all his matches and he was presented with the trophy by Eugene O Connor the HIBSF Tournament Director.
Team coach PJ Nolan was thrilled with the team’s performance throughout the week and players like Goggins, O Donoghue, Casey, Williams and Redmond have now wrote their names into the history of Irish snooker this week and I am so happy to see them lift the title here this week.
Jim Leacy RIBSA Chairman said that he was delighted that the team won the title and congratulated all the players and the Coach. It is a tremendous achievement winning this senior title and it is great to see that the RIBSA training camp last weekend in Carlow with Fergal O Brien and PJ Nolan helped in guiding the team to this fantastic victory.
