UAE Training Camp

PJ Nolan our National Coach was invited by the United Arab Emirates Billiards & Snooker Association to train their national team players in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

The eight day training camp was split into four days in capital Dubai when PJ trained International player Mohammed Al Joker, 17 year old player Bader Obaid and the current Under 21 Champion Khalid Al Kamali.

The other four days training camp was held in Abu Dhabi and this focused on training Mohamed Shehab who is the Current UAE Number 1 and  a former professional player who is one of the top Asian cueist. Ahmed Addulqader and Eisa Al Hasmi from their national team also had a session with PJ.

UAE are ranked the number one snooker team in the Gulf and the UAE are one of the strongest teams on the Asian tour. The Association are based in Dubai and regularly invite professional players like David Roe, Nigel Bond and Michael Holt to practice with their players.

Each player received daily coaching and training from PJ who is a qualified World Snooker Coach. PJ videoed each player and their playing technique and break building was fine tuned and improved using the latest technology.

The players received DVD’s of each training session; they also got academy training books and on the final day received a player profile of their playing technique with the main point to focus on.

All the players commented that the training and coaching was excellent from PJ. They said that PJ is now the leading coach in the world because he gets his players enjoying the game and his technical advice is easy to adapt into becoming natural.

Mohamed Shehab : said he has been waiting a long time to get the chance to train with PJ in the UAE and I have been working with PJ on my game for a number of years now. I follow his training programs daily which I believe have helped me with the success I have achieved.

Training solo with him over the last few days in Abu Dhabi has given me the Confidence and Knowledge to move my game to the next level and he proved again he is best snooker coach around.

Mohammed Al Joker : said that I have been to almost every top coach but the way PJ’s coaching is done by videoing the players and showing them the good and the bad points is fantastic. His training program gets you to play all the key shots and he gets you to focus on clearing the table which is great to make the training a challenge each day. I just wish I had got coaching and training from him earlier.

The UAE association hope that PJ will return to Dubai for another coaching camp in April to prepare their players for the 2012 Asian Snooker Championship.

PJ said : It was a very big honour to go to the UAE to train experienced players like Joker and Shehab and I would like to thank the UAE Snooker Association for inviting me and I look forward to the next camp in April.

The players trained very hard and scored very high in my routines and they worked on correcting their weak technical points.

Mohammed Al Joker : UK Break 139 , T Break 210, Waterford Break 193, Bow-Tie Break 131 c, Xmas Break 129 c, Scotland Break 121c, Y Break 131 C.
