The second RIBSA Under 21 ranking event of the season was held in the Ivy Rooms Snooker Club in Carlow on Sunday with all the top U-21 players from all around the country playing in the event.
Josh Boileau from Newbridge CYMS won the event in beating David Cassidy from the Crucible SC in Cork in the final 3 frames to 1 in an exciting game.
In the semi finals Josh beat Aaron Moyles from Ballina 3 frames to 2 and David Cassidy beat Ryan Cronin 3 frames to 2 in the other semi final coming from 2 nil down.
The big talking point was Ryan Cronin from Cork making a superb 125 Break in his last 16 match with Daniel Dempsey
Other high breaks in the event were Daniel Dempsey 58, Daniel O Regan 65, Josh Boileau 69, 58, 45,43, 42. Andrew Doherty 44. Aaron Moyles 42. James McGuinness 42, 36 and Jason Devaney72, 46.
In the Q-Finals Aaron Moyles from Ballina beat the number 1 seed Karl Fitzpatrick from Carlow 3 frames to 1. Josh Boileau beat the current senior champion Jason Devaney 3-0 with breaks of 69, 42, 39. Ryan Cronin beat fellow clubmate Daniel O Regan 3-1 and David Cassidy beat Cathal Dunne 3-0 in the last Q-final.
