Condolences to the Busteed Family

  Everyone involved within the Snooker Family would like to send their condolences to the Busteed Family on the sad loss and passing of their father. The Busteed brothers Karl and Martin are involved in snooker in Cork all their lives and currently run the Douglas Snooker Club on the South Side of Cork City.

O’ Brien Wins Lucan Racing Classic 2011

Fergal O Brien won the Lucan Racing Snooker Tournament in Celbridge Snooker Club over the weekend beating Ken Doherty 5 frames to 2 in a superb final.   In the first round Fergal O Brien beat David Hogan 4-2, David Morris beat Joe Delaney 4-1, Joe Swail beat Rodney Goggins 4-1 and Ken Doherty beat

Doherty Wins U-16 Ranking Event 1

Andrew Doherty won the first RIBSA under 16 ranking event in Celbridge Snooker Club today. The two top seeds Ross Doyle and Andrew reached the final but it was Andrew who was too sharp in the final and won the title 3 frames to nil. The highest break prize went to Ross Doyle with a superb 51 break.

Sweeney Wins U-14 Ranking Event 1

Charlie Sweeney from Newbridge CYMS won the first Under 14 ranking event of the season in Celbridge SC on Saturday. In the final Charlie beat Michael Woods from Dublin 2 frames to 1. The event was played in groups until the semi finals when Charlie beat Darragh Cusack from Dublin 2 frames 1 and Michael

Phil Arnold heading to Berlin

Congratulations to Celbridge player Phil Arnold who won the Amateur Cup in Killarney today beating Benny O’Brien 3-1 in the final.  Phil will now play in the televised stages at the German Masters in Berlin next February as his reward for winning the Amateur Cup. The event was restricted to all Irish and Continental European

28th Year of Celbridge Snooker ‘player of the year’

Celbridge snooker clubs inaugral player of the year league begins next Thursday the 20th of October 2011. This is a weekly handicapped event which begins at 8.30pm sharp and attracts approximately 30 players on a weekly basis!
