It was another great day of snooker on Day 3 for our under 21 players here in Montreal Canada at the 2011 IBSF World under 21 snooker championship.
First up today at 10am was Jason Devaney from Ballina when he played solid snooker in beating Lee Paul from New Zealand 4 frames to 2.
At 1pm Greg Casey won his third match in a row when he had a superb win against highly rated Duane Jones from Wales with breaks of 77, 62, 58 and 51 in a 4 frames to 1 victory.
Vincent Muldoon then went into overdrive with 2 century breaks in coming from 2-1 down to beat Rovin Franklin Dsouz from India hitting 126 and 102 breaks in a 4-2 victory to make it 3 out of 3 in the event.
At 4pm David Cassidy won his third match in the event when he had a great 4 frames to 1 over Edward Topham from Wales.
In the last match of the day the current Irish Champion Jason Devaney beat Jurian Heusdens from Belgium 4 frames to 2 in his best performance so far in the event hitting breaks of 41, 48, 48 and 74.
As National Coach I was again very happy with five wins from five matches as the standard is very high in this year’s championships.
The Cork boys really played great snooker in beating the two good welsh players, Jason put two good performances in a row after his defeat yesterday and Muldoon again showed his pure class with two fantastic breaks of 126 and 102.
