Killarney’s Mark Tuite was crowned the 2011 National Masters Champion on Sunday the 22nd of May after a long weekends play which saw him have to overcome some of the countries best players to take the title. Mark had to over come two ex-Irish Champions in Tom Gleeson and Joe Delaney to reach the final where he would meet Limerick’s Frank Sarsfield.
Mark, an ex-Limerick man and ex-club mate of Frank was too strong on the day for the No.2 seeded player and Mark took home the title and earned himself a trip to the World Championships in China later on this year.
